Aqua-Pure Announces Strategic MOU with Schlumberger Water Services and M-I SWACO

Calgary, Alberta CANADA, July 07, 2009 /FSC/ - Aqua-Pure Ventures (AQE - TSX Venture),

Jake Halldorson, CEO of Aqua-Pure Ventures Inc., is pleased to announce that the company has entered into memorandas of understanding with Schlumberger Water Services, USA Inc. ("SWS") and M-I SWACO, ("M-I L.L.C."). The companies will jointly explore immediate business opportunities while working toward a definitive agreement.

Cristina Nicodano, Vice President of Environmental Solutions Emerging Technologies for M-I SWACO said, "M-I SWACO is continuously developing and exploring new technologies for the treatment of drilling and production wastewater. In the course of our investigations, we found Aqua-Pure to be an excellent technical solution as they have the experience and capacity to deal with production wastewater and meet stringent environmental regulations."

The parties have set forth a nonbinding agreement with respect to the services the Company will provide SWS and M-I SWACO and the way the companies will pursue immediate business opportunities. All arrangements are contingent on the negotiation, execution, and delivery of definitive services agreements.

SWS, based in Denver, Colorado, provides services to oil and gas companies in over 80 countries. M-I SWACO, based in Houston, Texas, is jointly owned 60% by Smith International, Inc. (NYSE, PSE:Sii) and 40% by Schlumberger Limited (NYSE:SLB). M-I SWACO is strategically located in more than 70 countries. Both companies are leading providers of a wide range of products and engineering services designed to deliver drilling and environmental solutions, wellbore productivity, and production technologies.
